It's final

gah. Let's see. The voice of darkness & Kat are separating, Kat & Sam are not friends anymore. Mystics & Strays is pretty much dead. I'm sorry.

I might think of doing another one in the future, this one on my own, but as much as I'm unhappy with Sam personally, she was the life of the podcast. So we'll have to see.

I may manage to do a dour, cynical yet witty podcast, but there's so much do to, and so little laptop memory. I can't use the desktop anymore, so that's another mark against a revival of anything anytime soon.

Soooo.... give me a year, and we'll see. Sorry.

We're in the handbag now

Okay, it's been a long time since we did a show, and it's gonna be a while longer.

Samantha has separated with her husband, moved out and settled into a new home; that's what kept us from recording for the last month.

Currently, the Voice in the Darkness and I (Kat) are on the verge of breaking up too. I'm an emotional wreck. I don't know when we'll get around to doing a podcast about the Gathering, but it won't be this week like Sam and I had planned.

Life sucks right now, so just send me good luck vibes and hopefully we'll manage something before the end of August, but I'm not guaranteeing anything.

Show #12: Reigning Cats and Dogs

What can I say, we're incredibly late with this one and it's all my (Kat's) fault. I edited the first third of the show, but pretty much everything after the music is unedited, so listener beware. Download it here, or subscribe to the feed.

Music:
Mystique by Kori Linae Carothers (opening & closing music)
Skeletons and Spirits by Allison Crowe (featured song)

I haven't any links to stuff, since I can't really remember what the heck we talked about. I think the promo is for the proud pagan podcasters (see links right), but that's about it...

a vague update

I'll have the next show up by sunday; it seems to be our 'new' day. Now I just have to stick with it, sigh. And next week we'll have a show without Sam, sob sob sob. I have absolutely no clue what we'll discuss, so it should be interesting!

bon voyage, Sam!

Our cohost Samantha has taken off for parts east (Ontario) for the next two weeks, which means that while we have one more show with her to air, at least one will be without, sob. Instead, the Voice in the Darkness and Kat will try doing a show together. Could be interesting....

gremlins ate our podcast!

Well, actually, Audacity, the program we use to record the show ate it. So we have to re-record, which means we don't know when the next show will be up. Sigh. However, we've finished recording our first ever Promo!!!, (which managed to not get eaten). It's here or at the feed.

We plan on doing one this weekend; if that falls through, damn it, I'll coerce the Voice in the Darkness to do it with me instead! So there, Sam! thbbbt.

Extras

There's a few things we forgot to mention, or rather, things that I (Kat) forgot to mention.

1. the donate button. Right now, the 'goal' is to get gas money for our upcoming trip in August to the annual Gathering for Life on Earth, a BC pagan gathering. It's gonna be an 8 hour trip for us, so gas money is going to be needed! Lol, I'm hoping we can figure out how to do a mobile recording, so we can do some interviewing and maybe record some discussions for the show. Yeah, we'll get permission ahead of time, yadda yadda yadda. I may even see about putting together a seminar for the Gathering, on the topic of pagan podcasting! We've got a laptop and a mic; what more do we need? The donate button is in the sidebar, fairly far down, right below the M&S feed link.

2. if you like us, vote for us at Podcast Alley. Why vote? The more votes we get, the higher on the list we'll show up; it means we are easier to find. Heck, vote for every pagan podcast you like; I don't think there's a limit...

3. now, if you have any suggestions for topics, or questions about things we've talked about, don't forget to leave a comment, or email us at mysticsandstrays@yahoo.ca !

my music podcast

I'd like to introduce my garageband.com podcast, The Stray Kat. It's what will play in the little media player to the right and is linked lower in the sidebar. If you like, subscribe and you'll get weekly music selections of my favourite independant bands. Or come here and listen. Just think; two podcasts for the 'price' of one! ~Kat

Welcome!

This is going to be (hopefully) the homepage of Mystics and Strays, a non-wiccan podcast. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out how to get it all together soon, testing everything, etc.
